💀 Draw the Death’s-head Hawkmoth: Art, Anatomy & Myth Collide
Few insects in the world inspire as much fascination as the mysterious Death’s-head Hawkmoth. Known for the eerie skull-shaped marking on its thorax, this species—Acherontia lachesis, A. atropos, and A. styx—has fluttered through centuries of folklore, superstition, and art. From ancient legends to the haunting imagery of Silence of the Lambs, this moth has come to symbolize transformation, mystery, and the delicate balance between life and death.
