This is why I LOVE teaching!!!! I am proud to announce that Jean LeStourgeon has just illustrated and written :Family and Friends of the North Florida Wetlands Coloring Book.
In my online classes I almost never get to meet the people I am teaching. I make contact with them via Facebook in a group page and through private emails. Some people pay for the classes and I never hear a word from them. I encourage artists to experiment, take risks and develop their own style. It was apparent from the start that Jean was on a mission. She actively participated online and often posted her questions, works in progress and final wonderful drawings. It was apparent she was hooked on creating art and was having a blast with each drawing. Little did I know she picked up on my mention of the Florida Master Naturalist Program. It is an in-depth study of the different ecosystems in Florida. There are many courses around the state that focus on these different , diverse ecosystems. In order to complete a unit and graduate you have to create a final project. Jean took her pen to paper to create this awesome book that educates and introduces some of the animals and plants in Florida that are endangered. Here are some sample pages from her book.
