Live Zoom Workshops & Classes are designed to meet with Mindy and other artists in a live virtual classroom. These special offerings are limited to 15 or 20 participants and are held on specific dates and times. A recording of the workshop is sent to participants within 48 hours of the close of the workshop and is viewable for 90 days on my Youtube Channel. Live Zoom Workshops are specialty topics with live demonstrations and opportunity to work with Mindy in a live forum. A membership to Facebook Group: Drawing the Beauty of Nature with Mindy Lighthipe is available to all students enrolled in any class. This bonus allows for artists to share their work, questions and be part of a community.
2 Day Live Zoom Workshop
Learn to drawing exotic tropical Orchids! This 2 day workshop will bring the warmth of the tropics into your art studio.

Day 1- Drawing and Preparing an Orchid Painting
- Introduction to orchid taxonomy and anatomy
- Constructing and drawing the components of the whole plant; buds, flowers, leaves, stem & root system
- Selecting color choices- mixing natural greens and vibrant flower colors
- Incorporating front, middle and background
Day 2- Focus on Painting a Final Watercolor Composition
- Discussion of paper choices and transfer methods
- Demonstrations of applying watercolor for form and color accuracy
- How to keep colors clear and bold
- Lifting veins and final details
2 Day Live Zoom Workshop- Creating Greeting Cards!
Have you ever wished you could create your own greeting cards but don’t know where to start? This is an introductory workshop to help you design, find a printer and work with online apps to create your own greeting card!

5 Week LIVE Zoom Class- All About Birds – Part 2
This LIVE Zoom 5 week course is a continuation of All About Birds. It is geared to those artists who have either taken the first course or who are familiar with the basics of bird anatomy. The course will meet every other week in order for the participants to work on and complete the projects. Students may work in whatever medium they prefer. Demonstrations will give an overview into multiple different combinations of mediums.
