I have been using photographs in my art for a long time. When I moved to Florida I had to down size my studio and find ways that I could minimize clutter. I had boxes and files full of images from National Geographic, Ranger Rick, Wild Bird Magazine and more. I collected them and used them as reference when I needed some back up reference material for a painting. (See how I work with photos to create my art). I decided to give away my paper files and go digital! I discovered Pinterest and was instantly addicted. I decided that Pinterest could end up wasting too much of my time and started to think of ways that I could use it in my art career. Take a look at this 5 minute video and you will see what I am up to.
How do you use Pinterest? What do you love about it? What do you want to learn about it? Please leave your comments below.

I’d hate to throw out my files of references then have Pinterest go down. What kind of guarantee do we have that it won’t someday disappear?
Dear Anita,
This is a very valid question and one that I don’t have an answer for just yet. I will do some poking around and see what I can find out. I believe that Pinterest is here to stay. It is very popular and people are making money using it….. whenever $$$ are involved it usually sticks around….. but it could be awful to loose the files after carefully compiling all the info. I will see what I can find out and get back to you.
Cheers,
Mindy
Pinterest is a wonderful tool for reference photos. I also don’t feel pinterest is going anywhere. However, when you “pin” a photo it is from a website or a blog not connected to pinterest, there is no guarantee that the website that the photo was taken from will not remove the photo and/or article. Also, if the website/blog is removed, your photo source goes with it. Your pin would remain but would then be attached to a dead address.
Still love pinterest though!!
