Aracari

The Collared Aracari- Pteroglossus torquatus- is a small toucan. It is found in Central and the northern part of South America. Their diet consists of mainly fruits but they are also known to eat insects, lizards, bird eggs and the occasional bird. They are instrumental as seed dispersers in the rainforest. By consuming fruits they fly from tree to tree and eliminate their waste to other locations. The seeds have their own fertilizer!
