Eastern Swallowtail Zoom Workshop

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail – Drawing Nature’s Icon
Wednesday, September 17 • 1:30–4:30 PM (ET)

Cost: $99

The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) is one of North America’s most beloved butterflies—its bold yellow-and-black stripes and graceful wings are instantly recognizable. In this class, we’ll explore the fascinating differences between males and females, including the stunning black form of the female, and learn how to capture their elegance on paper.

Working from high-quality BicBugs specimens, Mindy will guide you step-by-step through accurate sketching, proportion, and wing pattern placement before adding detail, texture, and vibrant color. Whether you’re new to insect illustration or an experienced artist, you’ll gain confidence in creating realistic, dynamic butterfly portraits while learning about their natural history.

All levels welcome. Reference photos and specimen images will be provided for those attending virtually.
