Palm Tanager

Palm Tanager — Original Watercolor Painting
6 x 6 inches on Fabriano Hot Press 140lb Paper – Unframed

Subtle and sophisticated, the Palm Tanager (Thraupis palmarum) may seem understated at first glance, but its gentle hues of olive, gray, and powder blue shimmer beautifully in the tropical light. Common throughout Central and South America, this species is a frequent visitor to palm trees, gardens, and feeders, often seen socializing in pairs or small groups.

This 6 x 6 inch original watercolor is painted on archival Fabriano Hot Press 140lb paper, showcasing the nuanced shifts in tone and the natural textures of tropical foliage. The Palm Tanager’s quiet elegance and gentle gaze are captured with soft, delicate brushstrokes as it perches on a twisting jungle vine.

As part of my Tropical Songbird Series, this unframed original is ideal for bird lovers, collectors of wildlife art, and those who appreciate the softer side of nature. It pairs beautifully with more vibrantly colored species in the collection for a balanced and harmonious gallery wall.
