Pionus Card

White-crowned Pionus- Pionus senilis

This medium sized parrot is found in Mexico to Panama. It is sought after in the illegal pet trade. They are social animals and need to be in groups. The result of capturing theses parrots and placing them in isolation for human enjoyment has led to many of these birds plucking their feathers, behavioral issues and inability to adapt to their unnatural surroundings. It is recommended that wild species remain just that…WILD!
