Striped Owl- Asio clamator

The Striped Owl is found in Central and South America. It is mostly nocturnal and becomes active at sunset. By day it roosts in dense foliage of small trees or shrubs, sometimes on the ground beneath vegetation cover. This particular owl was injured and cared for at theToucan Rescue Ranch. It was cared for with other Striped Owls and bonded with one of the other owls. Upon his release, his mate was still recuperating in captivity and he stayed on the property to be close to his sweet heart. When it was her turn to be released, the happy couple resumed their life in the rainforest!
