I am a HUGE fan of the Kneaded Eraser! Do you struggle with how much graphite to put down in your drawings? Sometimes, do you put too much graphite down, making areas too dark? How can you get rid of some of it, but not all of it? This is where the kneaded eraser becomes your BEST friend. Learning to use the kneaded eraser is very rewarding!
- Firstly, you can easily manipulate graphite to lift large or small areas.
- Secondly, you can create textures within a drawing.
- Thirdly, you can use it to blend and create soft edges.
This is just some of the possibilities. The key is…… learning how use this great drawing tool. By caring for it properly, it will last a long time.
Check out this short video to help you get familiar with the kneaded eraser. By learning to use it will make working in graphite easier and more enjoyable. I hope you enjoy it! If you are interested in working in graphite I offer an online Foundation Drawing course. The course delves deeply into a step by step process for learning to draw.
